Allison approaches each patient from a unique perspective, blending traditional allopathic (M.D.) therapies with those of integrative and functional medicine. She focuses on the root cause of each symptom and works to address the underlying pathology that led the patient to feel unwell. She enjoys getting to know her patients and considers their background, social history, and current challenges when making her recommendations.

After completing her residency at Brown University and becoming certified through the American Board of Family Medicine, she began practicing in NYC where she was Office Medical Director for a large membership based practice as well as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Having also worked as a National Virtual M.D., she has extensive experience in the application of technology to improve and enhance medical care. She completed additional training at the Institute for Functional Medicine, is a Certified Health Coach, and is also a member of the American Medical Association and the American Herbalists Guild.

Allison is listed as a culturally competent physician by the National LGBT Cancer Network. She has training in the use of naltrexone to reduce alcohol and drug cravings. She is passionate about treating Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism and digestive symptoms such as acid reflux, IBS, and chronic constipation. Additional areas of expertise include PCOS, natural (drug free) fertility, headaches, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, menopause, autoimmunity, and unexplained fatigue.
